Paramount Fight Club

“The first rule about Fight Club, is that you don’t talk about Fight Club,” says Brad Pitt’s character Tyler Durden in Chuck Palahniuk’s critically acclaimed novel-turned-film. But Sameh Kablawi breaks that rule, with his unique gym for men and women, who battle the same theme in the movie: people fighting with themselves psychologically.“This is not a gym that promotes pit-fighting like in the movie,” says Kablawi, owner and founder of Paramount Fight Club. “Whether your fight is to lose weight, develop more muscle or compete at a high level, bring it to us and we’ll help you find yourself at the finish line, looking back at everyone in second place,” says Kablawi.
At Paramount Fight Club, the word fight means many things. It involves kicking bad eating habits to the curb and fighting self-esteem issues. It means joining world-class instructors and personal trainers on their mission to get you into the best physical shape and emotional state of your life. It means learning how to defend yourself. And most importantly, it defines finding a unique outlet of expression in an environment where everyone is accepted.
Recently founded, Paramount Fight Club has already established a range of clientele that includes women, children and men from the ages of four to 70. Although its immediate success seems astounding, it holds water when you take a look at its exclusive ingredients. Boasting renowned industry professionals, an on-site expert nutritionist, a full-service gym and a host of unique and entertaining classes such as women’s Cardio Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Submission Wrestling, Combat Fitness and in the very near future, Yoga, it’s easy to see how Paramount Fight Club is becoming a smashing hit in the GTA. “Along with intense training comes intense motivation and positive energy from our staff. All of our self-defence instructors have reached the pinnacles of their respective disciplines and have competed on both an amateur and professional level, accumulating impressive winning records,” says Kablawi, who has been in the fitness industry since the age of five. Paramount Fight Club’s program Tiny Tigers, is tailored to kids and strictly teaches them the art of self-defence, combined with anti-bullying and healthy eating habits in a fun and safe environment.
Unique to other fitness facilities, Paramount Fight Club is regularly assessing clients to ensure that they are getting the necessary attention to not only attain their goals but exceed them. “My daughter and I train together and although we have different expectations, the professional personal trainers at Paramount Fight Club were able to accommodate both our personal needs. The workouts are always fun, yet challenging and never boring,” says devoted client Carol Tatangelo.
With the New Year right around the corner, there is no better time to take reign of your goals. “When our members come up to us, thanking us for helping them feel so much better about themselves and their lives, we know we have done our job,” says Kablawi. 905.553.5231 www.paramountfightclub.com

I have been a member of Paramount Fight Club when it was called Victory Fight Club. I guess I should have known what was going to happen to my membership the moment one closed down and the other one opened. The owner Sameh Kablawi is a loud mouth attitude filled little worm who says one thing and then does another. He has pissed off a number of clients who have left the Gym. He is at the centre of a number of law suits, and does a great deal of false online advertising. His reputation in the Martials Arts world is crap he has had a number of instructors from the respected Franco-Behring Association leave his employment. Being a long time member I am shocked to see how often people drop by the club out of the blue trying to catch Sameh to collect money for work completed…it always made me wonder why Sameh is never seen at the Gym.
Pramount Fight Club…No thanks I cannot wait to have membership run out so I can Join Matador MMA in woodbridge and train with Jesse again.
I am a member of Paramount Fight Club and have not been using the facility because they have lied to be as a client. When the facility first opened up, I was told that Hot Yoga would be provided as a service so I eagerly jumped on the chance to sign up because that it was not only conveinent to the location I reside at but that I can do Hot Yoga along with their women’s kickboxing classes. It has been 6 months since the facility has been opened and they STILL have not provided hot yoga. I have asked the Sameh Kablawi repeatedly to give back half my money but he has constantly refused. As a business owner, he has lied, false advertised, hasn’t taken any leadership in providing good customer service… and that’s all fine- I will be taking other actions to get my money back.
Paramount Fight Club… More like, Paramount Flop Club! Sameh Kablawi knows nothing about running a business, let alone how to talk to clients! His constant lying and manipulating of people is disgusting…
I’m not sure who he thinks he is, but I can’t wait to see him push the wrong person! It’s too bad really, the club could of been something to brag about as a client, but the reality is… It’s just embarrassing to even mention where I work out.
Sameh walks around with his sunglasses and designer shirts, not sure what movie inspired him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks he’s Tony Montana… Sameh, you’ll never be the man! You’ll always be a punk!
I am a member of Paramount Fight Club and I love it!!! I was told YOGA would be coming….and it hasn’t…..which sucks….but I do everthing else and the classes are fun and challenging!!! The members are awesome, and the staff is upbeat and friendly!!! Although I do believe the customer is always right…..I have to wonder what the member’s might have done to piss off Sam or any other of the employees there to the point that they would be unhelpful…..a pancake has two sides
lol…..and there’s always to sides to every story
Looks like the club has shut down?
Well if your looking for a martial arts club that DOES NOT have negative drama , check out Bravado Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Woodbridge. They are in their 10th year (so you KNOW they will stay open) and they offer top notch instruction in Gracie / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing. The Staff and Students are really friendly and its more like a close knit family.
And another thing ALways do your reseaech on choosing a club best suited for you! I did my home work on many clubs (including PFC) and Bravado for me was my fit! Check them out bravadojj.com
There is also another mixed martial arts facility in Woodbridge. MATADOR MMA has been open for only six months but the instructors at this academy are top notch and have been in the industry for many years. They have a World Champion Brazilian Jiu jitsu black belt and a top striking and conditioning coach that work very hard to see that the students achieve all their goals. They offer BJJ, K1 striking, Extreme conditioning, Women’ s only kickboxing, Mini Matadors KIDS program, and fighter conditioning. They are respected members of the Ontario Jiu Jitsu association, CASK amateur kickboxing association and compete on national and international levels.

The club and Sameh have dissapeared Houdini style since they were locked out by the Sheriff for being in arrears ($4K ) in rent on MAR 11th!! (As per note on the PFC door)
Leaving many of us members wondering what happened. No notice, email or phone call(talk about no love) specially for those of us with kids in the BJJ class which the kids really liked. Matt McDonald was a great instructor at the BJJ classes which is too bad.
The club had great potential with a great location close to everything in Vaughan, modern facilities and solid variety of disciplines but you still have to run a business like a business where customers are a priority. Too much drama and inconsistencies.
With all due respect to Bravado times have changed but they haven’t changed with the times. Descent place but limited variety of disciplines offered as shown on their website. Can’t speak about Matador but a number of PFC people went back to their Victory Club roots to Matador in the past few months so that is a good sign about a club.
Nowadays you have the following choices to train:
- “McDojos” plenty of Karate, Taekwondo cheap start but pay for every little thing after and very traditional mostly focus on kids. They avoid MMA like the plague.
- “Fighter Stables” which focus on developing fighters but not for the average joe. Not many around and you have to be prepared for the intensity. Big names know these places well.
- “Converts” – old traditional Martial Arts places that are transforming to the MMA way and run it like a business but still few out there and their locations usually suck.
- “Who am I” – Those places in transition looking for their niche in the MMA world and the bushido way
- “Wannabes” run by egomaniacs who can’t pass by a mirror without looking at themselves which is fine as long as you deliver the services in your club and grow the sport. You classify if you have more than 4 pics at your site from the MMA Expo with a UFC fighter.
So the day that somebody opens something that has the a customer driven approach, with great instructors, accesible locations not in the industrial area armpits, access to health(psysio, chiropractors, massage, nutrionist), clean facilities, choice of multiple disciplines for young, old, men, women, kids at a reasonable cost then finally MMA will move to the masses but until then the ongoing drama at martial arts places wanting to attract the legion of new members will continue.
Shame on you PFC for getting our hopes high!! Another one bites the dust…..but time will tell if the rest learn from others mistakes!!
Excuse me times have changed but Bravado hasn’t? Last time I checked a punch in the face is a punch in the face and broken nose is all the same in 1920 or 2010. It’s all about attitude an approach and Bravado has got it hands down. That’s what separates a Brazilian jiu jitsu place from a submission wrestling one. There is a huge wresting and judo component to the instruction at Bravado so don’t be so quick to discount it to two disciplines. Besides I had a guy teaching me 5 disciplines at one time and felt like a crusader, but realize now that it was really somewhat of a false sense of confidence. I had some moves and speed. Give me a knife and I’d rip it up but I’d be going to jail for life too, not practical! In any case it’s not the number of arts it’s the methodology of training, it has got to be a contact sport firstly and to really learn you’ll likely get a few injuries. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in the best shape of my life. Bravado is the way to go and its one big family there. The tight BJJ is with the crew at Bravao.
Good day Mike,
Totally agree with the characteristics of gym you mentioned ( McDojos, fighters stable, Converts, Who am I , Wannabes). However characteristics are simply generalizations to the main context of what you’re trying to point out. Each gym/ dojo’s has something greater to offer. Therefore it is up to the individual to find the characteristics of each of those 5 categories of gym/ dojo’s and maximize the strengths instead of the weaknesses to fit into their training and fitness goals. Finding the right instructors are like dime out of a dozen ( ie men , jj) the right instructor will compliant your strengthens and assist you to develop your techniques, strength, conditioning and mindset to become the martial artist and /or fighter YOU”RE aspired to be ( ie a life time partner ( that’s if you take your training serious, also depending on what you’re looking for).
As a results, I have to contrary your statement in regards to Bravado. Your statement was the following “With all due respect to Bravado times have changed but they haven’t changed with the times. Descent place but limited variety of disciplines offered as shown on their website. “ in which it contradicts what you said about the 5 types of gyms.
#1 changing with time??? Yes we all evolve with time. I am not quite clear with the point that you’re trying to make? All great martial artists and/or fighters who are inspired to compete train in many different forms of marital arts (bjj/ muay thai / kick boxing/ boxing / wrestling/ judo.. etc…. all of which comes from a fundamental form of martial art… Every marital artists and/ fighters come from a traditional backgrounds and different variations of martial art forms. So what is changing with time? I believe that’s a statement that is up to the individual if they want to take their training into the next level where they can develop their own strategies, techniques and find their fit in the martial arts world. ultimately change is up to the person to make.. not your coach , not your instructors, not your training partners. They are all systems to assist with the changes YOU want to make and better you as a fighter and/or martial artist.
#2 websites only tell so much…. Maybe you should come in and check out the facility sometime… again it’s what you want to gain out of YOUR training…
In all, I am a true and proud member of Bravado, not only have the instructors and fellow students have created a safe environment for me to train in , the facility and opportunities to learn and grow has open a whole new world to me. I’ve been with this gym for less than 2 years , and it has created a better physically and mentally martial artist. I gained opportunities that helped further my growth and journey in bjj, which I will continue to follow. I am now a competitive female Bjj martial artist who is still and will be developing my skills with Bravado Jiu-Jitsu’s continuing tradition of producing martial artists & champions( 10 years and going… …)
Hope to see you around some day mike.
Jenny xoxo
Well said Jenny from the block and when you have a lot of trophies they’ll know where you came from! Hope to see you on the mats at Bravado Mike. Give Dan a call he’ll set you up. He always has an introductory promo going on as a trial to see if it for you and kids really love his classes too!
I have to say, I wasn’t surprised to see PFC close down right around the time to start paying rent (they had 8 months free rent to begin with).
I wish I could go back in time and punch Sameh in the face, when he decided to bully me about my membership and pull the tough guy routine! However, looking at it now it’s probably best to let karma settle this… Looks like it has, PFC has closed down!
A training facility is a matter of preference. The people and professor/instructor really dictates the environment. I could care less for the flashy posters and ‘octogon’ or the douchebag who ran the club!
Whether it’s Bravado, Grantbrothers or Matador, do your homework! I myself train out of Matador, and I can assure you I’m more than happy to promote this facility!
Great people, great environment made up by great instructors!
Be good to eachother,
Ralph
LANNA MUAY THAI IS THE BEST MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL! IT’S THE PLACE TO BE!
Sameh has scammed so many people, let alone being known for g-ing out girls and taking advantage of them. Good ridance… he’s gives all MMA venues a bad name and considering that there trying to legalize MMA in Ontario, he’s has brought the sports down in disgrace.
Fail.
Mike,
Obviously you have made your assumptions just by viewing a website? So i guess your the guy who looks at a website and decides then!! Well my friend you got duped at PFC!! Found a place to train yet? Bravado is still there going strong!! Just ADDED classes to keep up with demand!! Aside from learning from great instructors! Did you know we have some of the Top BJJ competitiors in the country training there? Pan Am BJJ silver medalist? Ontario open Brown belt champ? World masters champ? We have them here!
So please before you “know” what an academy has to offer you, check them out, try a class and be careful… you may actually think you may make the best decision in the world…. join!
Wow,
All these years later, only to read about this lowlife ‘Sameh Kablawi”
I knew this guy back in 1998 – 1999, and even back then he would scam people in his teenage years. Lying and backstabbing others.
What a total piece of trash!
