Clusters of plaques and certificates line the walls of Audio One’s impressive store, evidence of its audio/video expertise and commitment to staying on top of new trends in home entertainment technology. A charming black and white portrait of the D’Ascanio family also hangs from the wall of a meeting room, alluding to the origins of the company. In the photo, the D’Ascanio brothers, Anthony, Carlo and Gino, are surrounding their late father. The passing of their dad in 1985 acted as inspiration for the brothers to unite and found Audio One, one of Canada’s premier specialty retailers. “Audio One has been in business for 23 years, since 1986. We’re still a family-run business. And it really came from a passion for audio/video,” says Gino D’Ascanio. “I think one of the best things about working with family is that there is a high level of trust and confidence in each other. We’ve been at it so long, we’ve each found our own niches within the company.” Read more

The evolution of Rexdale Disposal is a testament to the Rossi family’s devotion and commitment to its work. A Toronto-based waste and recycling enterprise, Rexdale began in a rented space behind a gas station to grow into a three-acre property that houses over 30 crimson-coloured service trucks, a 20,000 sq. ft. building and 35 skilled employees. The Rossi family is a tight-knit group, who execute business matters with integrity, passion and diligence.
“For five days of the week, I would say my day starts at 5 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. and then Saturdays are half days. That gives me about 75 to 78 hours of work a week,” calculates Mauro Rossi, vice president of Rexdale Disposal. Mauro inherited an impressive Read more

Leave your accounting and bookkeeping to someone who knows that the bottom line in all business relationships is trust. “Trust is No. 1,” says Frank Cacciola, co-founder of the revolutionary firm, My Accounting Department. Eliminating the unproductive time business owners spend on bookkeeping is Cacciola’s way of helping companies reach their highest potential. “Essentially what our service does is help the business owner focus on their business and their sales rather than their bookkeeping and accounting.”
Like many successful business leaders, Cacciola caught the entrepreneurial bug at a young age. He established his first company at 19. “I grew the business to 115 employees and bookkeeping and accounting was a struggle,” says Cacciola. With no previous background in Read more
